Scrapbook Giveaway

National Scrapbook Day is fast approaching.  This is the 1st year we will be celebrating National Scrapbook Day at My Creative Classroom.  It lands towards the end of our semester, so it was often overlooked.  This year we wanted to change that.  We are very excited to be offering a wide variety of scrapbooking courses this May.  Better yet, we will have a number of free seat giveaways to get the fun started.

Free Seat Giveaway-Big Ideas for Mini Albums

Our 1st free seat giveaway is to a class I am helping to teach....Big Ideas for Mini Albums.  I am so excited about this class. I can honestly say it has renewed my love of scrapbooking.  I first started scarpbooking 13 years ago and my journey was very typical.  I started with an album or two and a small stash of paper and stickers.  Suddenly I had a small closet full of supplies and then it took over a full room. YIKES! I moved from 8.5x11 to 12x12 albums.  I moved from a small point and shoot camera to digital to DSLR camera and had more pictures then I knew what to do with.  And then at some point after the birth of our son and starting My Creative Classroom I completely stopped.

I knew I could not continue with yearly 12x12 albums.  Where would I put them and what would I do with them. And if I am completely honest, I really do not prefer 12x12.  I prefer a much smaller size when scrapbooking.  I still had a desire to record our memories, but I had not idea how to proceed.  I was in quite a pickle has I still had a room full of supplies. Thankfully my husband has a garage full of tools, so he really could not complain too much. :)

This lead to a long journey or trying new systems, reading books, looking at blogs and message boards, not finding a good system for me and then starting all over again.  This class once again forced me to solve this problem.  And I believe I have come up with a good solution for me.  Best of all, I am scrapbooking again for the 1st time in years and having a blast!  I had forgotten how much fun it can be. :)  (And yes, my husband is very happy to see me using all those supplies again.)

Whew!  That was long winded, enough about me and my journey.  If you want to learn more then I suggest you join me for Big Ideas for Mini Albums.  I will be sharing my system for yearly review mini albums.  Plus six other MCC Instructors will be joining with some amazing albums of their own.

What is it about mini-albums?! They are so fun to create and to look at. They can be almost addicting. smile
Maybe it is their size or the freedom they evoke. They can be made from almost anything. Sizes can range from teeny tiny to 8x8 and everything in between. They can be detailed works of art or simple smashbooks. I must admit they are my favorite form of scrapbooking. Join me and six additional MCC Instructors as we explore the world of mini-albums.  Click here to view the full description.  Enroll today and get in at the Early Enrollment price!
*****Free seat giveaway!*****

Now let's get to the fun part.....your chance to win.  Just leave us post and let us know if you love mini albums and why.  You have until Monday, April 22nd, at midnight to entire.  Already enrolled?  You can still enter, we will just refund your tuition if you are the lucky winner.

Good luck!

  1. Me me me me me! This sound like such a great class. I've never had much luck making mini albums, but my husband loves the ones our niece makes for her kids. And, the great niece made one at Easter, so I really need a boost in this department.

  2. Back in the day when 6x6 albums were available, I was a newcomer to scrapbooking, and loved focusing on only one -or- two photos per page. Would love instruction in using the Zutter Bind-It-All ! ! !

  3. I have yet to start scrapbooking with the tons of pictures I have. Making a large scrapbook never looked like fun to me plus there is the storage issue. Making mini albums sounds like something that would be doable for me and not take hours of time to do.

  4. I would love to learn how to make mini albums more meaningful. I do 12x12 because I feel I need to scrap all my photos. I feel mini albums would make me choose my photos better.

  6. I love making mini journals, so a mini album is almost the same thing! How wonderful to have so many different ideas, from all these teachers, in one class!

  7. I would love to learn to make mini albums because with the big albums, I wind up making lots of "pages" but never quit get the albums together for some reason. Small albums might be incentive to finish one!

  9. I, too, do not like the 12x12 albums, they seem overwhelming to me! I have done a couple of 6x6 & 8x8 in the past, but would love new inspiration to use some (I am sure not ALL) of my photos! They would make such wonderful little mementos for the fun things in life. Thanks for the chance to win a seat!

  16. This would be so much fun! I do love mini albums. I have made several for gifts. They make great "event" albums that you can give to someone, completed, without having to spend a huge amount of time. Thanks so much for the chance to win a spot in this class!

  24. I'd love to win this class as I don't usually make mini albums as they seem to be a bit harder to pull it all together then the "normal" 12x12 ones. Thanks for the opportunity~

  28. Your story sounds like mine!! Except, I have 11 full 12x12 albums and none are in any order but one which was the senior year for the last 2 of 6 kids. I didn't think I would like mini-albums, but I was given the task of designing one for my LSS and that was fun and then I saw a cool way of doing a mini-album with lots of room for pics and I was hooked. I haven't done a yearly review one, but I like the fact that each one tells one story! I'd love to win, but I'll take the class anyway.

  34. I love books and in particular mini books either journals or albums. I've made a few and swapped a few but.... I have a block when if comes to putting pictures in them or journaling. Got great ideas when I start out but sometimes the books are just to precious to put pen to paper. I need help!

  35. I love mini's but somehow never seem to be brave enough to try many of them. One album with one theme seems a daunting process. So this would be a great class to win. Thanks for all you guys do.

  44. I used to make mini albums to give as gifts. Then I joined some design teams and lost time to make them. It became all about deadlines and 12x12 layouts. Now that I have time again is love to make some albums again. Just need a jump start. Lol

  45. I love making mini albums. They are easy to complete and the possible themes and subjects are endless! Thanks for the chance for a chance to win a seat in this cool class!

  46. I love creating mini albums because they are short and sweet. They are easier to start and complete. It is a great gift idea! People love that you spent your time and talent to make something so unique for them. I use most of the ones I create as gifts to celebrate special occasions or personal milestones.

  47. I really like minis but I'm never sure what to do with them. I typically scrap events on 12x12s so minis just don't match my normal style. I'd love to get some ideas how to use these in conjunction with my traditional scrapbooks.

  52. I love mini albums because you can totally choose what you want the album to be made of and the subjects are endless. It can be simple or wild and crazy. I feel more boundaries when making a 12x12 or 8x8 album and absolutely none when making a mini. I also love that the mini can be a single event or theme. Since I love minis so much and my life is really crazy right now, I would love to win. cheriemcguire49

  56. I just love Mini books for gifts, they make wonderful family mementos when given to people after a gathering. I also like to make them for day trips with the kids. Seems it ok to put a whole bunch of photos even the not so good one in a mini. Because you are really trying to showcase the days events, and document the laughs the family had.

  57. Mini albums are such a wonderful to highlight a specific event and are such wonderful gifts to give. Easy to share, look through and carry with you when traveling. A little love to slip into a loved ones bags if they will be away for a while. I sent them with hubby when deployed for 6 months at a time. Perfect traveling companion:)
