Blog Giveaway!

Happy Friday,

Looks like my normal Friday post is going to be a day late.  Sigh.....I just don't know where the time goes.  Well, actually I do this week.  I thought my week would be free and clear and then I ended up with a sick husband at home all week.  Oh joy!

To make it up to you I thought a blog giveaway would be just the ticket.  World Card Making Day is coming up on October 5th.  To celebrate we have a brand new class....Simply Cards!  Join me and nine other MCC instructors as we has some fun using bits and pieces from our stash.

Join My Creative Classroom as we celebrate World Card Making Day with a brand new class....Simply Cards! 10 MCC instructors have come together to share our love of card making. Handmade cards are a wonderful way to celebrate any special occasion and send a bit of love through the mail. At a time when email, texting and twitting fill our lives the simple act of send a card is almost a forgotten art.

Yet, I am often reminded how special sending a card can be. There is nothing like seeing a handwritten envelop mixed in with the bills and junk mail.

Each instructor will share three card creations with you. All centered around a specific consumable like stickers, flowers or ribbon.  Click here for more information.

Class Start Date: October 3rd, 2013
Price: $20

******Now for the giveaway!******

We are giving away one free seat to this class. To enter just leave a comment to this post.  Tell us what you do with your cards.  Do you actually mail them to friends and family?  Do you give them away?  Or do you keep them....cuz you just cannot part with them. ;)

You have until Midnight Monday, Sept 30th, to enter.
Good Luck!

Already enrolled?  No worries, you can still enter the giveaway.  If you win we will simply refund your tuition.

See you in the classroom,
Jeri'

Now he is getting his treatment in Chicago Cancer center so the next bunch and they are adding up quickly will go to him. I save some to send to friends and relatives but not a lot of them, I make little boxes and decorate them and put 6 cards in for gifts as well. I would love to take one of your classes.

  14. For the most part I send them out, sometimes I include my note on a separate paper so the recipient can use the card to send to someone else. I have had several who have enjoyed that idea. I do just give some away & keep some. Thanks for a chance in the giveaway!

  15. About 95 percent of my cards are donated to Operation Write Home: http://operationwritehome.org/ This is an organization who sends our homemade cards to deployed hero's then they can send them back to their family and loved ones. I have a son in the Marines so this is close to my heart and encourage others to check it out if they have extra cards.

  19. I make lots of cards all year long!! I make for birthdays & anniversaries for all of all my family & my husband's family...parents, siblings, nieces, nephews, & great nieces & nephews. I also make them for our church Community Life Group & some special friends & co-workers. Then I make about 150 Christmas cards every year to send to all the same people as above!!! I love making cards & hope the recipients enjoy getting them!!!!

  20. I do send most of my cards. Each family member and friend gets a one of a kind card for their birthday. For Christmas I usually make three or four designs and send about 40 cards. No emails or Facebook greetings for me! A few favorite cards I have hung on to, eventually they will go to someone but sometimes I like to look at them a while. :)

  21. I send a lot of cards, I give cards as gifts, and I donate them to Operation Write Home. I even sell a few (very few unfortunately) but at least they all have good homes. There are only two that I have kept.

  24. Even though postage continues to climb I mail a lot of the cards I make. I know how it brightens my day to find something besides a bill or junk mail in my mail box. It is my way of showing that I care and love someone. Sometimes the cards are blank inside so that my non card making friends can give them away. One of my friends really appreciates that since I moved away and he can't come to me at the last minute needing a card.

I was surprised when I visited my sister to discover that she has every single card I've made and sent her on display in her craft room. She said that sometimes when she is stuck she finds inspiration looking at my cards.

Thanks for the chance to win a seat for this class.

  25. I do send my cards in the mail, for those it is a card I have made special for that person, including the holidays. I agree it is really nice to see something other the bills and junk mail in the box. I have a general stash I keep on hand for Co-workers, that I and my hubby can select from and the rest goes to Operation Write Home. I’ve been donating to them since my oldest was deployed years ago.

  32. Anyone that knows me well knows that when it's their birthday, they will get a special card just for them from me. But not only birthdays -- any occasion is an occasion for a handmade card. I also love to teach young people how to create with my supplies. They can do some pretty wonderful stuff if only you show them how to get started :)

  36. I make cards for both myself and as gifts for others. I've also made cards to send to our service members so they can send cards home to loved ones. Sometimes it's hard to part with a card I particularly love, especially if I've used specific scraps that I've run out of. :-)

  39. I am stuck with keeping most of my cards because I am not good at following through and getting them signed or mailed. It's like my mountain I struggle with. Always trying to follow through but I think I am a starter type person and then loose my way.

  41. I'm still relatively new to card-making. I did send out a number of Christmas cards last year, and plan to do so again this year. I also want to build up an "all-occasion" box so I have a stash of hand-made cards to send out. I'm also planning to make thank-you cards to give my boss for the holidays this year.

  45. I make cards specifically for family members and friends. I used to photograph them before i sent them out but then stopped doing so. I wish I had carried on taking the photos as it would be a lovely record, rather like a journal, of my feelings towards each of these people through the years.

  46. Not only do I mail my cards to family and friends, I make enough to share with my Mom so she can mail them to her friends when she needs too!

  47. For a while now, I have paid little attention to the cards I made, other than they were cute or nice. I sold a couple, sent a couple. Now I have a mission.

My youngest daughter lives in a group home for people with developmental disabilities. For whatever reason, I sent her a card a couple of weeks ago. From what I heard, she held it, looked at it, and even slept with it that first night. Since she is non-verbal, this action said it all. Now I am creating cards especially for her, but I have started filling in birthdays and anniversaries to mail cards to friends and family.

  48. I send them to family and friends, of course, even create custom orders for friends. However, the thing that I do with most of my cards, that inspires me the most is I make cards for Operation Write Home. We (cardmakers across the country) create handmade cards that are blank inside for our troops serving overseas to use to write home to friends and loved ones. A way to do something I love while giving a little something back to those who give so much to us. Over 2 million cards sent to our Heroes and counting! (Operation Write Home, not me!)
    Thanks for the chance,
    R/

  49. I love making cards. I started shortly after my retirement from teaching first grader, My passion is raising money for Relay For Life and selling my cards helps me raise even more money. I give 100% of what I get for the cards to Relay. I love learning new ways to create my cards--guess I am a frustrated artist at heart. So I love your courses! Thank you!
