This
class is all about organizing scrap supplies, how to pack for a crop,
class or retreat weekend, and how to use your stash. I make about 300+
layouts a year and have a reputation for getting a TON done at crops and
retreats. I’ve gathered my best tips and advice to help us get from messy scrapper to efficient, organized crafter!
- Lesson One and Two: Organizing Supplies-We’ll explore different methods of organizing supplies (brand, color, product type, hybrid style), storage options, using the space you have (under the bed to a whole room), and using your supplies as decorations.
- Lesson Three: Getting Ready to Create-Packing for a Crop vs Class vs Retreat Weekend & organizing photos
- Lesson Four: Working Through Your Stash-How to use the 10,000 piece eyelet set you bought at expo 5 years ago, when to let go of something because you will never use it, how to challenge yourself with the supplies you have/fall in love with your stash again. PLUS:How to shop without guilt.
Already enrolled? That is wonderful, and guess what....you can still play along. I will simply refund the tuition if I pick someone who is already enrolled in the January session.
Thanks for visiting,
Jeri'
Omigosh, where do I start? I need to organize everything, but lets be practical. I really need to clean off the counter top so I can have access to my machines (Sizzix, Cricut, etc) and have a work space. Then I could actually see my stamps.
ReplyDeleteWhile I did an overhaul of my space last year, I still have a huge supply of scrapbook kits and embellishments. I need to dig into those two areas a bit more and really purge and organize in a way that works best for me. And then use it!
ReplyDeleteWow this sounds like a fun class! I need to find some kind of organizational method for my stamps. I'm not a huge stamper, but I find that I'm starting to accumulate quite a few sets. Pretty soon, I won't be able to know what I have anymore!

ReplyDeleteI desperately need all of these lessons, but especially how to organize my supplies so that I can pull from everything to do mixed media art, and also how to let go of or use up the massive amount of stuff I bought for scrapbooking a few years ago. It seems that every time I decide to get rid of something, I find a use for it, and yet I have a ton of stuff that I never seem to touch. I think I'm just overwhelmed!
ReplyDeleteBoy do I need this class! I really wish I could post a photo of my scraproom. It's a disaster zone! I also frequently pack to go to crops. My son is graduating in June 2014 and organizing photos to put a snapshot of his life together would be wonderful. Also, I have lots of "stuff" and would love to have it organized to use it and only buy what I need.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure I could tell you just one thing, as it really sounds like I need the whole class! I would love to go from messy scrapper to efficient, organized crafter!
Thanks for giving away a free seat in this class!

I have so many stuff, don't know where to start organising first...
ReplyDeleteI'm already taking part in the Stamp challenge to get my stamps organised. But my problem is that a lot of my stuff are all over the place. In the living room, where I mostly scrap, I have a heap of paper and stickers, but in my real scraproom, I have so many items: paper, cardstock, stickers, stamps... and also lots of paper for cardmaking. So it would be nice to get some advice what I can do to get most out of my old stash as well!
I need serious help organizing my embellishments! Stickers, buttons, stickers, flowers, stickers, brads, stickers, ribbons, stickers, sheets and sheets and sheets of stickers!!! Too many to fit on one of those round thingy ma jiggers that have clips for stickers sets!! They are taking over but I bought each one with a specific purpose for a picture or set of pics in mind. HELP!!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance at the class giveaway! I really need this class - I've been accumulating stuff and running out of room. Most likely I need to weed out!

Lesson #4 will be the one I need the most.
ReplyDeleteSince we moved into our new home, I have not been able to get my craft area organized. I would love to sit in on this class and hopefully receive some new ideas and encouragement to get going in this area. Thanks for the opportunity to win!
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a fabulous class! I am not sure even where to begin in my studio is my problem. Not enough room, no cabinets to store things either. It's exhausting to think about. Thanks for a chance to win a spot. :)
ReplyDeleteI SOOO need help organizing my embellishments! Also my paper, but the embellies first. I know I have stuff, but can never find them. I also know I have matching paper and embellies but never seem to have them together so I don't use any of them at all. I need help! :-)
ReplyDeleteI need to organize my punches and embellishments the most. I live in tight quarters in the Bronx, NYC. My living room would make a hoarder feel right at home. But I love my crafts. Papercrafting is a different beast to tame. Quilting, miniatures and machine knitting, a cinch. But this paper thing has captured my soul...and my apartment. SO....yup I need oganization!
ReplyDeleteMy husband says I need this class as I have too much of everything and spend enormous amounts of time just looking for stuff....maybe if I win, my hubby will help me to organize things :-)
ReplyDeleteI think I most need to organize my embellishments so I can see what I have. I tend to forget my pretties, and they just sit unused. :(
ReplyDeleteI really need this class as I am retired and cannot afford to buy those nice cubes and storage things. I think this would help me use the things that I have and organized my craftroom
ReplyDeleteI would love to organize my craftroom in such a way that everything is in the right place ALL the time. But in particularly my papers. I have such a hard time how to organize my papers solids and printed.
ReplyDeleteI need to organize my papers. I think of categories, but they never seem to work. Not sure what to do with the solids and prints.
ReplyDeleteThis class sounds just perfect for any artist!! I'm an organized person but i love seeing new ideas and realizing that someone else has a better idea!! The one thing I really need help with is all those paper embellies one buys. Packs of them, where you get 25 things and you use a couple...then what do you do with the rest? I need ideas!!!! Thank you for the opportunity!!
ReplyDeleteLike everyone else I need help organizing it all, espeically since I craft in bedroom and have very limited space. But, if I have to pick one thing I would say my stamps, closely followed by paper. Thanks so much for the chance to win a seat in this class, it would be a wonderful late birthday gift (Jan.4th) that I wish I could have afforded for myself.
ReplyDeleteI really need to organize my paper and I also need to organize how I take stuff to crops. I've been working on my stamps...for now :)
ReplyDeleteI finally have a studio! But, I find as big as it is, I am NEVER going to have enough room to stash all the goodies I've picked up over the years. My mixed media supplies are overwhelming. How do you organize such a diverse group of items?
ReplyDeleteI really need to get organize when I go for a crop. It is always something that I wait that I do not have......

I need to organize my paper most of all! Thanks for the chance for a seat in the Organized Crafter :)
ReplyDeleteI have a very small box room and everytime I get something out there is no where to put it and a whole load of other stuff falls on top of me. I need help to sort this out
ReplyDeleteThank you for the chance to win! I need to do a huge organization of all the new things I have acquired since moving 4 years ago. But most of that is embellishments - flowers, chipboard, and dimensional stickers. I have a Scrap Rack, but need to put the newer stuff in it. I have a whole bin of stuff...an 18 gallon bin and a couple bags also.
ReplyDeleteThe biggest challenge for me is embellishments. I have them in so many places and forget what I have. Ribbon is a problem, also. Thanks for the chance to win. Pam
ReplyDeleteI need to make better use of the space I have and learn to pack for a crop! I know the tools I need when I go but I tend to load up the car with most of my craft room :O...This class sounds great! Thanx for the chance to win a seat :)

I would say my stamps are most in need of some kind of organization. Too many different types of stamps: clear, wood mounted, unmounted...
ReplyDeleteI would like to organize my stamp collection - many different sizes, shapes, wood, unmounted, clear and sets. And have a way to remember which stamps I do have.
ReplyDeleteThis would be a wonderful class for me. I am moving and will be setting up a new craft room and then I can organize it when we move.
ReplyDeleteMy embelishments. They are so hard to organize and find what I need for a project. I forget what I have because it is so hard to organize them in a way that is helpful. Thanks for the chance to win. I would love to take a class by Jennifer!!!
ReplyDeleteI need to most organize my paper. Right now I have it in two stacks, patterned and cardstock. I need a better way to see what I have!
ReplyDeleteAll my stamps!! I just can't find a good system.
ReplyDeleteI have the most trouble organizing my stamp and inks, help!
ReplyDeleteI need a good system for my tools and also for my embellishments. We recently moved, so I need a new system for my current space where I can access everything easily.
ReplyDeleteI need to organize my embellishments. I forget I have them and it is such a sad situation that they don't get used!
ReplyDeleteMy stamps!!!! No doubt about it, I have tons and tons and tons and less than a tenth get much use at all. They are in boxes and drawers, CD cases and and and.....Many of them have never been inked at all and I still keep buying more. However, I am a mixed media artist, not a scrapper and have never been to a crop in my life, so have no idea how much I would get out of this class...
ReplyDeletePaper!!!! I love paper, but it is taking over!!
ReplyDeleteI need to organize everything. I'm in the process of converting a room into my studio.
ReplyDeleteI need to organize my ephemera, and all the little bit of scrap paper.
ReplyDeleteI really NEED to win a seat in this class! You should see my studio! YIKES!
ReplyDeleteHow do you orgainze embellishmente? AAAUUUGGGHHH!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWendy Pannell
My entire craft room needs to be organized in a functional way. I is now a crazy space. I need real help please
ReplyDeleteI need this class so bad, lol. I absolutely need help organizing my paper. That is: the pads, packs, scraps, unfinished projects etc. You get the idea!!!
ReplyDeleteMy dies need a home. And I need to learn how to clean up when you have several projects going at the same time. And I need to learn what to recycle. THEN MAYBE I could find my work table!!!!
ReplyDeleteI need creative ideas to use the space I have... I have outgrown it, but moving isn't an option!
ReplyDeleteI need to get my room more organized so it is a more user friendly room. The main are is the stamps and inks but everything is in need of improvement. Thank you for this great prize
ReplyDeleteI have stamps everywhere, drawers, cute boxes, special containers. The stencils are bulging out of the notebook. I have everything I need - just somewhere.
ReplyDeleteI need to organize the entire room! I have paths...yes, paths in a 10x10 room......stacked on the floor........OMG it's horrible, therefore I don't go in there often, and have slowed down on my crafting.........not a good place to be, whaaaaaaaaaa
ReplyDeleteI have taken over a family room and living room. Would like to organize down to one room -- help! Kind of a mess right now
ReplyDeleteI need to organize EVERYTHING! I live in a small Jr. one which is fancy city speak for small studio apartment. I guess maybe my problem is having too much stuff but when I'm crafting, it usually feels like I don't have enough stuff, lol. Right now, I'm utilizing the age old stacked in piles on the floor method as well as booting some clothing from the one dresser drawer. I guess I like to SEE everything so that I use it but not sure that's practical. lol.
ReplyDeleteI would love to organize my rubber stamps and ink pads. My embellishments are kind of haywire too! Hope I win the free class!
ReplyDeleteI need Jennifer Priest to come organize my craft room(aka dumping zone) so since that's not going to happen winning her class would be wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI need a way to organize my scraps--I have too many of them and have them separated by colors in a drawer system but it is overflowing.
ReplyDeleteOh dear where do I begin? Well My craft room is in need of organizing that's for sure. But, I gotta hold off on that til my son gets back on his feet and finds his own place again. (He has temporarily moved into my craft room.) Jobs are hard to find here and he is almost done college. He should be graduating this summer! Well ok I went off on a rabbit trail, sorry. Well I must say I do like to attend crops and I always seem to take more than i ever use. I think the class would really help me there.
ReplyDeleteI will be moving soon and I would love for my craft room to start organized.
ReplyDeleteWould LOVE this! Thanks for the chance, and love the blog!
ReplyDeleteI need to organize my wood mounted stamps. I'm stumped! Tami
ReplyDeleteI really need ideas on how to organize my embellishments so I can know what I have and where things are when I need them. I am lucky in that I have a spare bedroom as my own craft room, but I have no idea what I have as there are containers, binders and bags everywhere! HELP!
ReplyDeleteGlenda
I love to organize because I get to see all the cool stuff in my stash. My paper needs organizing the most because it is not all in the same place. I could use some help!
ReplyDeleteI like to think I'm pretty organized, but I do need a method of categorizing my many stamp sets. Thanks for the chance to win a seat in Jennifer's class room!
ReplyDeleteI would happy to receive any help : ) but if I had to pick something it would either be my dies or stamps. Thanks for the chance to play!
ReplyDeleteMy scrapbook space is a hot mess! I need help figuring out a good work flow. I seem to get so much stuff piled up on my desk I while I'm working on a layout that I can't get to the layout to finish it! Thanks for the chance to win a seat in this class!
ReplyDeleteMy biggest problem with organisation is paper. Full sheets down to the itty bits, patterned & cardstock. I cannot seem to find a logical system. HELP.
ReplyDeleteCheers Sue
Paper is my biggest mess but I can use help with it all!
ReplyDeleteThis weekend I need to clear out the scrapbooking stuff I have in the middle of my living room (from when my lss closed and I had almost all of my "stuff" there when I was teaching and designing). I have a new cubby/table arriving on Monday and I want to be able to assemble it and get organizing!!!
ReplyDeleteMy craft room is fairly well organized. An acquaintance just gave up paper crafting and gave me all of her tools, supplies, etc. She filled the back of my SUV up to the top of the back seat! I see plenty of things I can use but where, oh where do I put it all? I I was already pretty much out of storage space.
ReplyDeletePretty much everything, right now. Whenever I'm working on a project, I start taking things out and everything is all over the place. It always looks like a tornado hit in here. lol
ReplyDeleteI need to know how to organize my craft supplies when going to a crop. I always seem to take a bunch of stuff that I don't use, but I might need it so I throw it in. Then I end up not having what I do need and don't get much done.
ReplyDeleteI could use all kinds of advice actually. :-)
ReplyDeleteBut for in my craft area I need help organizing my stamps and also my embellishments so that I can find what I want faster -- and to be able to use them easily for inspiration when I'm stumped. My paper stash could use some help too.
I am also REALLY lost as to how best prepare for a crop and/or retreat. I've been avoiding them due to not knowing what to bring since I couldn't possibly bring my entire craft room! :-)
I need ideas on how to store/organize paper scraps and punches. Also would like ideas of how to store smaller items so I can see them and then use them.
ReplyDeleteI told my Grandson once that I was messy he just said 'No Grandma you're not messy you're creative!'I always knew he was highly intelligent LOL, but I still would love to learn 'creative' ways to control my 'messy' craft room. I really need to improve my organizational skills & this class is just what I need.
ReplyDeleteI need help with it all. I am lucky enough to have a whole room, but it is always a mess! I keep on saving "stuff" because I might use it - and I'll admit I never do use it, just add more "stuff". Particularly need help with embellies and how to make sure I use all the beautiful things I buy.
ReplyDeleteI need help, My craft room has some great bones but it always looks like a bomb went off and trying to find things, well, you just don't find it!
ReplyDeleteMy craft room looks like a bomb blew up in there. I make excuses not to start a project because I need to organize my room before I start anything else. I need help organizing the whole room, but if I had to pick one area I guess it would be embellishments. There are so many different kinds - buttons, ribbons, brads, tags, etc. I would love to win a seat in this class!!
ReplyDeleteI have a small area, so I need to learn to condense, or make the most of my space. Thanks for a chance to win.
ReplyDeleteAppreciate the chance to win a seat in what sounds like an awesome class: Getting Organized. I need help the most with my scrapbook papers and unmounted stamps; embells., too.
ReplyDeleteI start out withthe right intentions, but things ended up in a pile!
ReplyDeleteMy craft supplies are in a terrible mess. It has really handicapped my creativity since I went back to work in Sept. The only thing I have created since Sept. is about 10 Christmas cards and those were sub-par to the ones I normally do. It is getting a little depressing...
ReplyDeleteI have 2 areas that desperately need organising....my stamps and my embellishments....would love to win.
ReplyDeleteI would love to attend this class, thank you for the chance to win it.
ReplyDeleteLesson Four would be for me! I have so much stuff and loved it all when I got - now I need to actually USE some of it! Thanks for the chance to win this class! :)
ReplyDeletei need help with organising everything...my scrapbook room always looks untidy with stuff everywhere...so much stuff to use and I spend all my time tidying up...help needed!!!
ReplyDeleteI need help with Organizing Supplies and finding the best way to store them...my stamps and dies are a mess...Thanks for the chance to win this class...
ReplyDeleteI need help organizing everything. I have so much stuff and I have now outgrown my craft room! HELP!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for a chance to win.
ReplyDeleteI've actually already signed up for this class because I'm so desperate. Being picked would just be a really nice bonus. I've tried so many different things to organize my space and it hasn't helped. It's effecting my ability to create and one of my goals for 2013 is to be more organized and purge anything I'm never going to use not just for my crafts but also for my life in general. Another goal is to be more creative. I think 2013 is going to be a really great year.
ReplyDeleteI need to organize my paper so I can find what I have when I'm working. thanks
ReplyDeleteCool, I didn't know there was a blog! :) Hmm, I need to total organization overhaul! But, little by little, so I'd say supplies like stamps, stamp pads/inkers, pens, tape, glitter and small embellishments that I don't have a lot of like twine, flowers and brads.
ReplyDeleteI have been in a constant state of organizing since I began collecting stamps and I still haven't found the best way. I have a great start but need to work on my space to work on. All help would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks for this opportunity, Patricia League
ReplyDeleteOh my, I think this class will be very popular amongst scrappers, card makers, any one who has to have the latest and greatest art supply and tool. Help me!
ReplyDeleteOMG I'm desperate, I don't even know where to start, my craft room is small, all the shelves are full of boxes, some of the drawers don't close, actually I don't know exactly what my supplies are :(
ReplyDeleteI have been blessed with a wonderful "craft room". My problem is I have lovingly collected so much stuff that my room is bursting at the seams. Some days I wonder if little gremlins come in and make a hug mess while I am away, lol. I soooo need a class on organizing my crafty space. 2013 is going to be a year of organizing for me--not only crafts, but my home and my life in general and what better place to start than here with you wonderful folks! Thanks for the opportunity!
ReplyDeleteThe thing I need to organize most are my ribbons. Have tried several different ideas and none work for me. Thanks for a chance for a seat in this fun sounding (and much needed) class.
ReplyDeleteDoes everything count? LOL My stamps and papers are in pretty good shape, but embellishments, dies, and tools (glitter, punches etc) could use some help. I'm a collector - I have lots of tools and great ideas, but either run out of time or get distracted/discouraged during the creating phase.
ReplyDeleteI need orginize everything. Papers, papers craps, ribbons, embellishments and scrapbooking tools. I have some organize but when i use lost the original place. Please i need the class so badl.
ReplyDeleteOh goodness. What do I MOST need to organize? Probably unmounted stamps or Project Life stuff - cards, ephemera, pictures, etc! It's a big mess!
ReplyDeleteI need to organize my ribbon & scrap dp the most. And maybe some unmounted stamps. Yep! I need some help!!!
ReplyDeleteI need to organize everything!!! Really, I do!
ReplyDeleteoh man... I have to start at square one but I don't know if that's my desk or the whole room. The room serves many purposes: my office, computer room and what was DH's office. So there's lots of organizing to do to make it workable. I hardly know where to begin.
ReplyDeleteNot only do I need help organizing, but also using a computer. LOL (I can't figure out how to post this comment.) My family downsized our home by almost half. Now I have to use a guest room as a scrap room as well. I have so much "stuff" that I don't know where to begin organizing. I had a dedicated craft room and lots of built ins in the old house. Help!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI need to organize everything better. I do have a system but I seem to have too much stuff and it gets mixed up when I am doing projects - I'm a messy crafter.
ReplyDeleteHow can one know what one should keep with what? Do I keep all my flower items together or do I sort by type of dye or folder? It seems whenever I need something I can't put my fingers on it. I spend more time searching that can be put into card making.
ReplyDeleteI have so many different crafting things that I need to organize better. For myself though I think learning how to organize for a crop or retreat would come in handy as I could use that information to help me pack for when I go and visit my sister. Especially if I'm flying I'm really limited by what I can bring with me.
ReplyDeleteI need to win because I'm so unorganized I don't even know what I already have. Sometimes I see a good deal on crafting tools or stamps and a couple months later I find that I already have them. I need help! Margo
ReplyDelete
