Cards # 7,8 and 9-Valentine's and Thank You

I have been busy this week.   I got on a roll last night and ended up creating an extra card just for fun.  Imagine that. :)  Hold on this is going to be a long post.

Thank-You Card using Club Scrap

Supply List:
  • Stamps-Club Scrap
  • Cardstock
  • Pattern Paper
  • Watercolor Paper
  • Watercolor Paint (I used watercolor paint on the background and and the yellow tag.  I loved how the color turned out using the stencils.  I used pan watercolors for this card, you would probably NOT be able to use watercolor pencils in the same way.  If you want to learn more about using watercolors on your cards check out: In & Out: Watercolor Painting for Stampers and Watercolor Techniques.)
  • Stencil-Crafter's Workshop
  • Photo Corners
  • Ink
  • Spellbinders Dies
  • Glitter Embossing Powder
  • Sticky Back Canvas-Ranger
  • Pan Pastels-Yellow (Used on the canvas tag.)
  • Brads
  • Ribbon

Valentine's Day Card using Magenta

Supply List:
  • Stamps-Magenta
  • Cardstock
  • Pattern Paper
  • Watercolor Paper
  • Tag Punches
  • Spellbinders and Silhouette Dies
  • Buttons
  • Stickles
  • Watercolor Pencils
  • Floss
  • Ink
  • Embossing Folders
  • Tag Punch
  • Printed Sentiment (The sentiment is included with our Love Struck class.  Deena includes many, many printables in this class.)

Bonus Card
After I used the one sentiment for the 1st Valentines card I was inspired to use the rest.  All on one card. :)  I noticed a lot of response to my masculine thank you card, so this one also has a masculine fell to it.  I will probably use it for my son as it has a younger fell to it.

Whew....that was a long one. :)  Thanks for sticking with me.  I have also add a inlink widget to the blog.  You can now add your complete projects.  I can't wait to see them.

  1. Wow! Those are fabulous. You were one busy lady. I love how each card is unique. I love your first card and the card using Magenta is totally fabulous.

Unfortunately they are not mail friendly as the Post Office would charge extra. Although the bonus card might be able to turn it inside out for mailing to eliminate the bumps where the brads are. I did that with a card with rhinestones and wasn't charged extra and my sister got it intact.

    Thanks for sharing your creations.

  2. I have mailed cards with bumpy embellishments and had no problem and no extra postage (as long as the embellies are not to heavy), The trick is to turn the card with the front of the card to the back of the envelope and add a piece of bubble wrap or heavy cardstock. I mail lots of cards to out of state realitives and this always works for me. Am loving this challange.

  3. I used to have no problem but the Post Office the last couple of months has really cracked down. I have done like you suggested with the heavy card stock and that helps.

A friend of mine had pop dotted a embossed panel on her Christmas cards and was shocked when she went to the Post Office to mail the card that they wanted extra. Even though the card squished flat.

  4. I am surprised that no one else posted a card on the blog! :-( Maybe everyone is waiting for a way to post in the classroom. I hope so. My card used another stamp set that I had not used before (CTMH Roxy) Now that I have a handle on the stamp sets I have it is easier to use them!

  7. Great cards! I have some postings I'd love to share but I can't figure out how to do it here. I can see one card posted by "Crafty Colonel" but no widget to add mine.

    1. Susan,

That was my fault. Last week was my 1st to use inlinkz and I messed up and set the end date too soon. This Friday I will leave it open much longer.

Thanks and I can't wait to see your work.
